Golden Sands is a resort near Varna, and was voted as the best resort in Europe, according to German Travel Channel. The other tourist places participating in the voting were Majorca, Dubrovnik and Nice.
If you’re willing to visit Golden Sands, the only way is to get there is by:
- airplane to Varna, then with bus, taxi or rental car to Golden Sands
- directly with bus from whenever you’re coming
- train to Varna, then with bus, taxi or rent a car in Varna
- directly with your own vehicle
You should know, that the taxis at the Varna airport are too expensive, so if you’re going to spend that much money, you’d better rent a car for couple of days. If you choose to go with local bus services, 409 goes directly from the airport to Golden Sands (through St. Constantine & Helen)
The prices for a rental car can vary from 15 euros per day, to 100 euros, depending from the class & the year of the vehicle, the rental period and the extras you chose. If you have the advantage of a car, you can check also Albena, Kavarna (with the magnificent beaches of Bolata and Rusalka), Kaliakra and Balchik.
You can go also to the south – Obzor, Nessebar, Sunny Beach, Bourgas, Primorsko and etc. The Bulgarian coast is one of the finest in Europe, and many travelers chose to spend their summer vacations in the Balkans.
